The Butler's Pantry Before: This Butler's Pantry, used for formal dining, is part of a century-old Victorian home in Moorestown, NJ. It it located between the dining room and the kitchen and had been closed off for 20 years. During the remodeling process, a tool was dropped into the sink, breaking off years of corosion to reveal a copper sink. The sink was taken out, acid-washed, polished and returned to its orignal location. After: The finished product combines period design with today's need for convenience. The countertop was originally made of wood, but to update this room, it was replaced with a Corian countertop in new Sierra pink coral. The condition of the tongue and groove walls was so deteriorated that they had to be replaced. Cobalt blue ceramic tile was used to continue the modern theme. To preserve the past history of the house, the original cabinets were restored and painted bright white. Up-to-date lighting and the contemporary woven fabric of the Roman shade all say "tomorrow." |
