The Dining Room

Before:
This antique styled dining room belongs to a replica of a Georgian-style townhouse located in Society Hill, Philadelphia. The townhouse, which was rebuilt in 1963, is modeled after the home which stood originally on this site. The original room did not accent the undressed French Doors which lead to the court yard outside, nor did it take advantage of the rich colors provided by the antique Oriental rug.

After:
By coordinating the opulent tie back draperies and faux finished walls with the rich colors of the Oriental rug, Rosa created a room full of color and drama. There was no concern for privacy in the room, since the French doors open to a courtyard. Therefore, Rosa pulled back the drapery using a decorative trim in order to allow for maximum light and to appreciate the view of the garden. Rosa selected the seat cushions, made of a durable fabric, to coordinate with the rich colors and fabric of the window treatment.

Rosa took a minimalist approach to displaying the antique paltes on the open hutch. To coordinate with the antique English, Oak furniture, Rosa refinished the moldings on the walls with a decorative gold leaf paint.
